Sick Policy
Growin Roots · Eau Claire, Wisconsin · Effective September 14, 2026
1. Purpose
In an effort to maintain the good health of all the children in our care, please refrain from sending your child to the program if they are sick. This will reduce the overall number of illnesses among the children we serve.
2. When we will call for pickup
If a child exhibits any of the following symptoms while in care, a guardian or emergency contact will be notified to come and pick up the child:
- Fever — temperature of 100.4°F or more
- Diarrhea
- Vomiting
- Persistent coughing
- Draining or spreading rash
3. Keep your child home
Please keep your child home if they currently have, or have had in the last 24 hours, any of the symptoms listed above.
4. Sick-care rate
Caring for a sick child requires closer staff attention and additional precautions. When a child is accepted into care, or remains in care, with any of the symptoms listed above, a higher sick-care rate applies for the duration of that care. The sick-care rate is charged at punch-out like our standard rates and will be shown on your punch and balance details. See our Terms of Service §5 for how charges and balances work.
5. Questions
If you have any questions about these guidelines, please contact our staff at amanda@growinroots.com.
